The first pieces Ása Tryggvadóttir made were flower vases shaped like the stalks of wild Angelica, the tall herb with hollow stems that grows across Iceland. She still makes them, her signature, alongside porcelain and earthenware bowls, plates, and the colorful cups most people leave with, reminding them of Icelandic nature. And as nature its perfect in its imperfection.
