Bobby Fischer Center

A must for chess aficionados, this small museum in honor of chess grandmaster Bobby Fischer comes highly recommended. The Centre features a permanent exhibition on the ‘Match of the Century’’ which took place in Reykjavík in 1972 between Fischer and Boris Spassky, considered to be one of the most glorious moments in the history of the game of chess. Fischer’s grave is in Laugardaelir, only a few hundred metres from the Bobby Fischer Centre.
